DSL filter and Caller ID not working

I purchased a trio of Uniden phones. One is connected to the wall and the others don't need to be. My caller ID doesn't always work. I have tried unplugging, removing battery, etc. Since I have DSL, I have a filter on the wall plug. When I remove the filter, caller ID works but the line has a lot of static. Any ideas?

This is a strange one!

If I were you I'd try to isolate the problem. Do you have an old phone you can try? Does the problem ever occur with this? Also, do you have a different filter? Does the problem occur with the different filter?

I suppose it is either the phone or the filter but we need to find out which.

My old phones work fine with the caller ID. I bought new ones because the older Panasonic aren't working even with a new battery. It seems that sometimes the caller ID works and then I get a message that says Incomplete Data. I thought about putting two filters together and seeing if that aleviates the problem.
