I was issued a form by the ward sister, to take to admin, and get a thirty day pass for car parking.
I had assumed it was free, but I paid £10. (No problem with that) Anyway, the admin folks said a lot of hospitals do it now for long term patient's visitors.
Just wondered if it's worth asking on the ward?

Our local hospitals don't do anything like that - it's £10 a day to park :-(
Definitely worth asking. Ours gives a pass- but only if you ask them.
If we have hospital appointments we drop now another off then look for free parking. Only free parking at our local hospital is if you're attending the oncology department.

Yes, I have been visiting this hospital for 11 years with Mr F..... this is the first I have heard about a pass. When I spoke about it to my neighbour, (ex nurse) she said it's not widely advertised.
(Loss of revenue I suppose.)
Ask anyway folks, you just never know.
Thankyou ferlew. I will ask. Today when putting my ticket in the machine I was told I'd overstayed and needed to pay again.Ye gods, what more do they want from me. It took ½ an hour to sort out and cost me another £4. The sooner Mic is out of there the better.
