Hello all Linkers.
Prince John and I have of late been giving the garden a good tidy up ready for Winter. We haven’t got a huge plot but suffice to say, we could if we wanted, easily build a bungalow in the bottom half. I love my garden although advancing years and arthritis have meant that I can’t do the heavy stuff anymore.
It never ceases to amaze me how many different types of plants we have blooming at any time of the year. These days we often get Spring flowering plants producing a second flush in the Autumn. Our winter Jasmine is already in full bloom, but I am afraid that the frosts we have had of late will nip them back and spoil the show. Up here in the North East everything in the garden is about 3 weeks later than in the South, so I have to be a bit careful not the bring on seedlings too early, which causes a few problems if I am bringing stuff on for my daughter who lives in Oxfordshire. We generally go to hers for the May day bank holiday, so tomatoes, beans etc. have to be ready to plant out whilst we are there. But it’s too early up here. Things can get a bit ‘leggy’, which doesn’t make for good plants
