Weird sense of humour shoota.
Maybe the moggie is stuck. He does know that by sitting in the bird thingy it is unlikely that any birds will actually come to visit. He or she is beautiful, can you post it to Scotland?
It looks a real beauty.

It's not a stray moggie. I know it lives a few doors away. It seems healthy enough and that's 'red-eye' from the camera flash that has given its eyes that strange look.
Its a beautiful cat. Do you *know* its killing birds...or are you making an assumption. We've got masses of cats around here...and I rarely see them eyeing the birds.
Question Author
There's no smoking gun to be seen, but there are occasional small clumps of feathers. The evidence is circumstantial.
You could try a water pistol, most cats hate water and it won't hurt the cat. Perhaps it hasn't got a cat flap and is feeling the cold.
