Incontinence Pads
4 Answers
Looking for hypoallergenic incontinence pads. Especially for the night time. Large but would prefer ones that do not resemble a nappy. For a lady. Need to be close fitting to avoid leakage. Tried rather a few but any help gratefully received!

Is that a problem, or do you know what she is allergic to? Most chemists have quite a selection. You can get elasticated ones which are like padded, disposable knickers. They aren't cheap though. She may be able to have an assessment through Social Services to get free ones, depending on means-testing.
You probably need to speak to a pharmacist as from your description it sounds like you and your mother have been shopping for pads in the sanitary towel section of chemists/supermarkets. Proper incontinence supplies often have to be ordered in for specific patients. The other option would be to shop online, saves embarrassment all round.
I wear them but there are several on the market that I can not use as they make me sore. I would try to get your mum to speak to her gp about as she could get them free if she has a problem. I do realise that your mum may not want to discuss the matter, but it`s for her own good. My mum was "stubborn" re the same problem, but we did get her to go to her gp after much coaxing. She even thanked us lol
