I wondered about the views of the panel on which end of a boiled egg (in shell) should be lopped off to gain access to the food within.

The pointy end, always
-- answer removed --
The thin end is a better fit in the egg cup so that should be at the bottom. Also opening the top gives a bigger aperture for access withou lowering the height of the rim so not so much chance of the contents escaping. Alternatively is it possible to get egg cups that hold the egg sideways? for those people with attitude problems.
attacking the thin end makes no sense to me
Ask d.smith shell know ....
