Make My Day - Alzheimer's Stories......
62 Answers
Having a cold and just enduring the mental torture of repetition, I wonder if you would like to share any of your Alzheimer's stories, the more amusing ones to be appreciated. Even though they are often a sad indictment of the patient, there can be some pretty amusing ones to be had.
I have just taken the mater into town shopping, six miles back and nine "That didn't take long" remarks later, I need some light relief.
Over to you good folk to spill the beans.

Later - regarding the same neighbour Teresa (who was a complete steetie) and known her for years..said that I should get the police to call before things got out of hand so when I enquired about this - said that it was undercover and she didn't know if should tell me and wanted to wait for the police..eventually I got it out of her that she was convinced that Teresa was breaking in at night and stealing her best roll-on deoderant.

My father in law had a different type of dementia that meant he hallucinated a lot of the time, it was very hard. He used to insist that there were people in the garden , religious freaks, who wanted to take our boys away :(
However, there were times when we laughed - he said "You won't believe me when I say there's a huge insect in the bath" - well there was, it was one of the boys' toys. When one of our neighbours bought a peacock it gave me a fright when I saw it on the fence - I thought I was the one seeing things, and he thought that was very funny :)
