Another U-Turn By Dave

Another u-turn it would seem. When Labour said that are going to do this after they win the 2015 election, Dave said that it was a con, but now he thinks its a good idea. A conversion on the road to Damascus perhaps ? Welcome anyway of course.

http:// www. telegraph. co. uk/ news/ politics/ 9617519/ 37- coalition- climbdowns- u- turns- and- row- backs. html If you care to click on the above link, you will see that it is from The Telegraph and - at 37 - contains MORE government u-turns than the Guardian's one. Not only that, but it was compiled in October 2012, so there is a whole year's-worth of others...

YMB, you claim, "This is a coalition. By definition this will lead to conflict of opinion and hence 'U-turns'."
I totally disagree! With a coalition government, the "conflict of opinion" should obviously take place when the coalition partners are discussing in private what their policies are going to be and NOT after they have decided and made these public. Surely that's perfectly obvious.

Quiz, perhaps this answers you ? And from the pages of your favorite left wing rag. Rather looks like the BBC jumped the gun.

YMB, perhaps you didn't notice the following phrases in your very own link...
"No 10 says...Cameron's spokesman dismisses...No 10 aide dismissed...Downing Street said..." and so forth.
Guess where all these denials originated. Have a look at Mikey's link, too.
You might also care to answer the point I presented to you in my contribution made at 11.10 on the 29th about how obvious it is that coalition partners should air their differences IN PRIVATE and BEFORE policy is declared rather than u-turning on average every month afterwards.
