Which part of Cuba is the nicest and does it matter if I have innoculations very close to going to visit?

You don't need any, but some are recommended. If you have them close to the date of travel they may not have taken effect and if you have had any side effects you may still feel groggy.

From the side effects POV yes. For effectiveness you'd need to ask your doctor/clinic.

I have been trying to get an answer from them for a week. They are so busy but I have been promised a call back on Thursday. Trouble is the late deal is available now and I could miss it if I wait

Varadero is the main 'tourist resort' but its not in the sense we expect.The beach is to die for and a Taxi ride into Havana is a about 2.3 hours depending on your driver and where he stops off but it is the most magnifecent diverse city I have ever had the pleasure to visit.Its everything and more than I anticipated.

We stayed at the Barcelo Solymar AI which I loved.The bars in Varadero are either open air with teenagers salsaing outside or clubs where you paid $10 dollars each for entertainment and as much as you could drink.I believe its no longer $'s but its still fantastic value.

I was told we didnt need vaccinations so we just went gung-ho and nothing happened to us.Of course you should have them.Please be careful with the mossies and the sand-flies on the beach.I ended up in a clinic in Cuba because I had an allergic reaction to them and then I got a double whammy before I came home and had to go straight to hospital from the plane and had to attend the hospital dailt for days to see the consultant.I've been left with mossie scars on my legs.

You don't need innoculations to go to Cuba. What is it with everyone who keep innoculating themselves everytime they go away. I have never been advised or told by doctor, nurse, brochure or any other source that you need innoculating to go to Cuba. You just dont need it, and i have never experienced any probs in that respect or anyone else i know. So dont bother cramming a whole load of drugs into yourself for nothing. Yes, there are mosquitos, but I reccomed buying a good repellent spray and cream, and maybe a net and a mini electrifier. Even if you do get bitten by mozzies they are harmless in Cuba, and eveyone knows that.
