Google Earth Loading Longitude

If 0� longitude is the Prime Meridian which runs through Greenwich, why does Google Earth load over some obscure town named Lincoln in Nebraska? I have looked but can find no way of changing this setting.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Lincoln, Nebraska is the centre of the 48 contigious states of the US. This is the Default View. Change it by finding 'default' in the Places window pane (red heading), right click on it and select edit. A dialog box will open so you can change the name and its map marker will become highlighted by a yellow box. You can now move this marker around to wherever you want the default view to be and press OK in the dialog box to set it.
