Morning all...

I'm thinking of getting a soundbar to replace my ageing surround sound system, and I'm looking to spend in the region of £300.

The research I've done has narrowed it down to a couple of models (LG or JBL), but a lot of the customer reviews for these mention a problem with lip-synching to the telly - which would drive me scatty in no time flat.

Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to spend more than £300 in order to resolve it?

TIA

We have a LG and have no problem at all.
You can buy real Home Cinema Blu-ray Surround systems for £300-00 or less.
Sound Bar systems are not true Surround Sound systems, it's just 'make believe', maybe they are quite good but not for me personally...
The experts will tell you Lip sync is more of a problem on LCD televisions against Plasma due to the motion processing, not much to do with what soundbar you buy. ( not an expert but had a good read up on this a few months ago) you can now purchase tv's with lip synching adjustments built in (USA)
if your viewing your channels through a freeview box etc, that has to be plugged in with hdmi connection to the surround sound box same with your dvd otherwise if your audio goes to the surround via the tv audio outlet this will cause or it does on my yamaha sound projector (excellent sound but no where near a 5.1 system) lip sync prob but only about 5 milliseconds not a prob for some people but i like it perfect. the hdmi "out" on surround goes to your hdmi in on your tv
yamaha have lip snyc adjustment (not very good to use) but wired this way you dont need it,
