10 Answers
There's been a long thread on here about self replicating molecules. What about sell replicating items?
I would say
1. odd socks.
2. biros.
3.oven shelves.
4. tie twists.
5. wire coat hangers.
What gets your vote?

In our closets and drawers leave one of the items and not much happens, but place another in proximity… stand back, 'cause their off to the races (especially coat hangars).

If you look closely around your house, you will realise that metal coat hangers are only one stage in the life-cycle of other metal items. The egg is laid in nooks and crannies, and looks to ordinary humans just like a paper-clip. Its larval form looks like a coat-hanger, its pupal form strongly resembles a supermarket wire-basket, whereas the fully-adult form is obviously the supermarket trolley.
So, beware supermarket trolleys lying in ditches and on canal banks. They are about to breed !

Yikes! In a town not far away, just yesterday I drove by a very large building being constructed… using extremely large quantities of what I had heretofore considered common, ordinary and safe iron rebar all tied together in a skeleton awaiting pouring of concrete… perhaps I should warn the construction company to watch for signs of life… or count the number of our paperclips again?
