Am I Entitled To A Small Flat ?

I live and work in London Enfield for the last 3 years. I don't live on benefits and I'm working full time and pay my taxes.
For the time being I'm sharing a house but I'm 61 years old and don't have patient enough to bear with the noise and lack of cleaning the flatmates behavior. Sometimes I get so depressed I just want to get a sleep and don't wake up. Sometimes I can't sleep and go to work exhausted. Don't get wrong : I like them all but is to much for me. Someone told me that I probably am entitled to request the council a small flat to live on my own. Can anyone please help and tell if its true and what should I do to achieve it? Please help me... You can ask your council, but it depends on the size of the waiting list, and whether you have enough entitlements, as to whether you get one.

You could look into options around sheltered housing if over 60 (55 in some areas) - tends to be lower demand for it so can easier to get into. You can live in sheltered and still work.

single people are usually at the very bottom of housing waiting lists, especially ones who are working full time and not on a low enough wage to receive any benefits i'm afraid. Perhaps you could privately rent a flat? Or at least find another house share - people sometime let out rooms in family homes, which might be a bit better for someone more mature

Reading shoota's link you need to have lived in Enfield for 5 years before you can even apply to join the housing register.
Not all house shares are noisy you could look for one where people are more your own age , and hopefully quieter.
