Recording Whilst Watching

I have sky, nothing complicated and no fancy add ons -if, for example, I record a 7pm programme as a series (or single) does this mean I can't watch other previously recorded programmes at the same time? Realise this is probably a very stupid question but it is a mystery to me!!! Thank you

You can watch other previously recorded programmes at the same time.

I only ever watch stuff that I've taped. I can tape two things whilst watching a third (taped) thing.

can watch 1 live and record 1. Or record 2 and watch 1 recording

If you have only 1 input to your box, you can record one programme and watch a recorded programme at the same time. (Let me know if you need help with timer recordings if you only have 1 input on your box.)

If you have 2 inputs to your box then you can record one programme and watch another programme or a recording.

sorry not to have acknowledged your reply Tuvok - very rudge of me but haven't been back on much - I have no idea how many inputs I've got but think I've managed to do it correctly (now just have to remember exactly how!!!!)
