OR you could take it somewhere you have seen seagulls congregating and release it.

Baby birds are notoriously hard to rear, and it's probably extrememly stressed at being confined and handled. Possibly kinder in this case to take it back to the wild and let it go.

Hi, Feed him pureed fish (raw and dampish). They can be hand reared but you have to poke it fairly well back in their throats depending upon the age of it (but do it gently).

There are people who'd know better than me ( you might try slimbridge as they know about all types of birds)although I can't for the life of me find a sensible link but this person rears baby gulls so try clicking on this

Don't release it, especially not near other gulls as they'll likely attack and kill it and even if they don't then it'll die as it can't feed itself. It may well be stressed, but not as stressed as it'll be when it'a dying of hunger, so give it a go.Good luck with it:)

If it has been injured by your cats teeth or claws and the skin is broken, its possible pollips could enter the blood stream and it may die from the infection without a dose of antibiotics.

You may be lucky to find a kindly vet to examin it or a wildlife rescue/ sanctory to care for it or give advice..

I'm sorry but my gut feeling is that it's probably for the best that this bird doesn't make it. If I had a pound for every moribund baby animal I have seen, under the care of people who genuinely only want to help ...

I once saw a baby swallow that had been taken on a 500+ mile journey by a family who had found it the day before they were due to go on holiday. It arrived in a flowerpot full of moss in a Tesco bag. I don't think the poor creature enjoyed the trip.

Thanks for all replys evening the amusing ones. Unfortunatly someone left te door open and my two cats ate it although it was doing well for the 30 hours I had it. ait even attempted to fly across the kitchen before landing in the washing bowl. Rather an unfortunate demise but I will knowif there is a next time .
