How do I get out of a phone contract or lower my tarriff?

Hi I have bought a phone contract from phones4u on the network orange and pay £39.08 I am about to go to university and have got other expenses. when I got the phone I thought I was not going to go uni but I changed my mind. im finding it very difficult to pay my monthly bill, also I am finding it hard to cancel or lower my tarriff. I am currentley 3 months in to my 24 month contract and really need to cancel or lower my tarriff to atleat £15. I cant afford to buy my contract out and also cant pass it on to family. can you please help me.

I am sorry to say that I think it is extremely unlikely. We were missold a contract phone when daughter went to uni ( they said calls to Isle of Man land lines were included - but they lied.) We had to get OFTEL involved in the end and did get it cancelled but was very difficult. Good luck.
Ring them and explain the situation to them, they may well lower the tariff (they did for a friend of mine), depending on what phone you got with it etc, but they are under no obligation to do so
