The Smart TV will recognise TALKTALK but will not connect to the internet when wireless.
But, when WIRED to the router the Smart TV will connect to the internet.
Anyone got any ideas why it will work WIRED but not WIRELESS.
Are you using a wireless dongle plugged into the TV, if so, is the wireless dongle approved for use with the TV?
I believe LG TVs will only work with their dongles – I nice little add on earner for the manufacturer (I don’t know if this is true for other TV manufacturers).
Thank you HYMIE and FENDER62.
It finds the Router - TalkTalk - but then message says that it cannot connect to the Internet.
Could a Firewall be allowing the laptop to be used but not allowing access to the TV?
I had a problem with my Smart TV connecting to the internet – wired.
My laptop could connect using the same lead, but not the TV for some reason.
The TV manufacturer’s help-line advised that there was no problem with the TV – and that the problem was with my internet provider (but they could not explain why my laptop could connect but not the TV). My internet provider advised that there was no issue preventing the TV connecting.
So I contacted the store from where I purchased the TV and explained the problem. They sent around a tech guy who messed around with the setting on the TV that fixed the problem.
Modern Smart TVs incorporate many features of a computer. My advice would be to contact the manufacturer or retailer for advice – there may be a problem/fault with your TV.
Thanks again HYMIE.
Spoke to Samsung. The problem is the internet speed is too slow so I will use it wired.
The people who I spoke to at Samsung were very, very helpful.
