Windows Live Mail "layout" Sign Is Greyed Out
2 Answers
I'm on Windows 8.1 and using Windows Live Mail. I have had to re-install the whole program and have lost all my storage folder emails. I need to go to the "layout" sign under the "view" column, but it is "greyed" out and I don't know how I get it operational. Can you help please? Tel

Go to all programs find Windows Live Essentials Right click on it and the box say Uninstall or Change click on this and next bow will ask you what you wish to do and click on repair Windows Live Essentials and let it do its thing. Before you installed it did you change the Net Frame Work from 4.1 to 3.5 as Windows 8 or 8.1 doesn't support Windows Live unless yo make this change.
Hi, Thanks for advice. I have run the Essentials repair and says repair satisfactory, but "layout" is still greyed out. I can't say I understand the Net Frame work change part because from reading the following, it appears I can't remove 4.1 and 3.5 is available on Windows 8.1. I quote:-
"it doesn't allow you to remove any versions of the .NET Framework that are installed as a part of the OS. On Windows 8.1, the .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.5.1 are installed as a part of the OS (although 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 are off by default)"....... Can you help me how I can change the 3.5 (defaulted to OFF) in order to be able to use the "Layout" symbol. Thanks in advance
