How do I submit the details of my website to searc engines

There are lots of multiple search engine submission tools available of the net (do a search for "search engine submission" on Google for examples, including the speech marks!). However the best way is to do it manually. Usually each search engine (Google, Lycos etc..) has a link somewhere on its main page or site map called 'Submit your site'. Just click the link and follow the instructions. Google's submission page is:
