Sellotape

What on earth has happened to this product?
My daughter bought a triple pack of this famous brand and it's absolute cr**p!
- doesn't stick AND it wasn't cheap at around. £6+ Not to mention Sellotape Dispenser with plastic 'cutter' that doesn't work either.

I can see next year having to go back to string!

I don't normally swear but I have called sellotape all the names under the sun when wrapping pressies this year. It's just as well I was on my own. Next year I will use gift bags.

When ever I use Sellotape, I get in a real muddle. I can never find the end and when I rip it with my teeth, it sticks to my lip and then it curls up into a ball of rubbish and I have to throw it away.

Scotch tape is the way to go, easy to handle, and no shine.

I thought Sellotape and Scotch tape were the same thing (only different)

No Tilly, not at all.
Sellotape is nasty & shiny.
Scotch tape is more matt, and malleable. No shine.
Virtually invisible.

I agree Matheous I bought a roll of Sellotape recently, it is so thin it shreds before you get a decent length to cut off. Glad I only got one roll.

I've been using some generic tape but it's tough as old boots and refuses to cut on the dispenser when I'm trying to do it with one hand, it just envelops me in tape and sticks me to the wall. I am disappointed.

Hobbycraft have Scotch tape Tilly. :)

the thing is, Tilly, it's no good looking for Scotch tape because it's invisible. Best ask the shopkeeper, she'll know where she keeps it.

The original Scotch Tape is shiny, just as Sellotape is. 'Scotch Magic Tape' is the matt, near invisible one.
