I recently had an incident in my 3yr old renault clio, I was driving along and slightly hit the curb and before i knew it my air bag had come out of the side of my seat and there was smoke everywhere.
I went to a garage who say that the air bag should not of gone off as there is not a scrath to my car and the impact could not of been that bad,and now renault are saying it is going to cost over a grand to sort out.
Has anyone else experianced this or have some sort of advice.
Thanks

If the sensors are particulary sensitive, they will set the airbag off.
On a almost related note, some vehicles are equpieed with fuel cut-off switches that act in the same manner - ie they cut the fuel to the vehicle in the event of an impact - it is well known for some vehicles to cut the fuel off going over cattle grids as they're so sensitive!
