Ordered a washing machine at 1.30pm and it will allegedly be here tomorrow and I will get a text telling me the four hour slot I have been allocated in the morning, everywhere else was quoting at least two weeks for delivery (fingers crossed but the man did ring and speak to himself so it's looking promising).

Brilliant!

Who did you order it from?
Question Author
Some lot called 'ao' - they seem to be v active on FB at the moment, always seem to have an advert from them. Don't think it was in a sale though, himself did the research (and then made us all go to Curry's to look at them for some bloody reason).
I had similar service on the 23 Dec, and it arrived as promised. Who is the carrier Sherr?
Question Author
No idea who the carrier is, but within 30 minutes of ordering it someone was on the phone to himself checking that we would be in tomorrow.
Question Author
Oh just remembered, we paid £10 extra for next day delivery but they can deliver to '70% of the UK' on the same day for £30.
AO are excellent, have had three things from them now and would deffo look there first in future.
I doubt you will be disappointed, they have an excellent reputation.

Thanks for the positive feedback Woof.
That sounds brilliant. My delivery service of the year is DPD - never heard of them until recently, but you get an email and text saying what time they are delivering (and they do), and you can track where they are on-line by sng the GPS from the van. Excellent service.

... And Mamy
I'll keep them in mind for any future shopping.

Thanks for sharing, sher.

You can't beat John Lewis.

They give you an extra year on the guarantee.
You can beat John Lewis! I ordered a washing machine from them on the net, the guarantee was 3 day delivery BUT in tiny print it said "limited range in stock items only' It let me go right through, choose delivery date, pay for it everything, then on the acknowledgement email if said "The item you chose is NOT in the range that can be delivered in 3 days and you will need to wait a month!!!!!" I phoned the up and created blue murder and got a cancellation and refund.
Currys gave us an impressive delivery too for our freezer, can really recommend them - email, then phone call the night before, then phone call in the morning from driver telling us he was 40 mins away from us! Really impressed, they even wiped their feet well whilst carrying the freezer in through the hall!
sherrard, I ordered a dishwasher from ao. It was delivered without delay - but when it came to be fitted, I discovered I'd ordered the wrong one. I rang the company - 'no problem', they said, and came back the very next day, took the 'mistake' away, and left me the one I wanted. Brilliant service. I would recommend them highly and without hesitation.
I've seen their vans about - I'll look out for buying from them! http://ao.com/
