When I was younger I had this storybook and there was one story about a little gorl and she ran away through the snow. There was a picture of her with a dead donkey on her head. Anyone have ANY idea what I'm on about?

Not sure about the dead donkey part, but there is a story about a little girl called Gerda who runs away through the snow to find the Ice queen who has kidnapped her best friend Kay. It is quite a sad story and makes my children cry, but has a happy ending There is a picture in our version of her with a little girl who she meets along the way and that little girl is wearing furs, a reindeer fur actually with the head attached....she gives gerda some furs to go on through the snow in too, maybe your version had weirder pictures in?

No that Ice queen one wasnt what I was on about, thanks anyway. Yeah, sounds a little Dali-ish doesnt it! Maybe I just described it a bit badly.
