'finishing' chemo, and saying what the hell and going on a bucket holiday to Egypt. - enjoyed by all.

getting (another) infection and rupturing an ear drum, but what do you expect if you're immuno suppressed ?

2013 has been a very good year for me. No disasters, no family deaths, no traumas. I've made some new friends and managed to keep my old ones. I will remember it as the year I finally finished teaching but hey, ho. Time to move on.
I hope that 2014 will be as good.

My sad memory of 2013 is losing our home. OH has been out of work for 4 years and the lovely mortgage people wouldn't cut us any slack. Can't look forward to 2014 with any optimism at all.

No I'm afraid there isn't. We are too old to start again and living in a little rented flat after having our own home is so depressing. Thanks for the thought though.

Been thinking about this and, on balance, it's been a fairly ok year for us - no one died, we weren't made homeless, no one ripped us off and tried to ruin us, didn't have to declare ourselves bankrupt, kids are all happy and healthy and himself has made a flipping brilliant recovery (despite frightening the Sugar out of us all).

Firstly I send my love to the many of you who have had a year punctuated with sadness, sometimes it is amazing how the human spirit copes - but it does. I wish you all a better,brighter and healthier New Year.

For me, at last, once again my family is all back in the same country, so I can watch the young ones grow at close hand. They get ever taller, smarter and wiser (cheekier too) and I love that!

On a more selfish and personal level - I have found the sort of closeness and care that in truth I thought was past for me. It goes to show, never say never. I am a very lucky Mamya indeed.♥
