I have been given a picture...about 8x10 inches in a black frame. It's the head and shoulders of a beautiful young girl...c. 1930.
You've probably seen these...viewed from a slightly different angle the face turns into a grizzly, evil old hag with the scariest eyes.
I have positioned it in my downstairs loo where its beauty catches your eye as you enter... until you lean over to lift the toilet lid.....then the hag appears.
Am I risking a wet floor...or worse....a visitor with a heart attack.....?
we had a shower curtain & painted on it was Norman Bates dressed as his ma with a knife poised above his head ready to kill, believe me it was scary but the late CS loved everything to do with the Bates motel, sometimes I use to say "beware of the mad woman that lurks at the top of the stairs" and sometimes I would just wait for the scream, it was so popular that one bride to be asked could she have one as her wedding present ! alas the mail order company stopped stocking them.
