can any one give me any guidence of what i need to do to become a funeral director.
i did a btec national diploma in care 2years ago thinking that would guide me in the right direction, i did my work placements at different funeral homes but this was all voulantary work and nothing ever come of it, i sent cvs and letters of application off to many different funeral directors hoping for a apprentiship or something but didnt receive any replys.
im now desperate to get out and work now my children are at school but cant find anything.
any help would be appreciated!

most private companies seem to be a closed shop - the Co-Op is the easiest employer into the trade.

I agree this is a very specialist area and probably a bit hit-and-miss to get into.
At least the sector won't be suffering a downturn in the recession, so the numbers of potential career opportunities should be level.
