The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

You're lovin' gives me a thrill
But you're lovin' don't pay my bills
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

Money don't get everything it's true
What it don't get, I can't use
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want, wah

Money don't get everything it's true
What it don't get, I can't use
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

Well now give me money
A lot of money
Wow, yeah, I wanna be free
Oh I want money
That's what I want
That's what I want, well
Now give me money
A lot of money
Wow, yeah, you need money
Now, give me money
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

thanks, but its just a little bit too long for the length of the envelope
just the first verse then!
Question Author

well we've gone and bought the bigger envelopes now!

why not publish a wedding gift list online - but only put about 3 things on it, that no-one will buy (it'll look like everything else has been bought) but add a note that guests can feel free to give money if none of the gifts are suitable

a bit naughty i know, but it will stop all the drama of how much to give, as if people know everyone is giving cash some will get anxious and maybe even start phoning around fishing for details - this way no one feels bad.

you could also just say, 'donations to make our honeymoon the best ever, would be preferred'
Question Author
that second thought sounds really gud saying about the honeymoon. i think that is a great idea thanks joko

Okay here goes.....

Our wedding day is not a farce, so stick the pressies up your a**e,

to save us from this horrid rash, instead please send us lots of cash!!

lol

Money doesn't make you happy, but it makes being miserable more bearable.
I have just one thing to say to you.....RUDE
joko's idea isn't a bad one - but remember that some guests may take it literally and expect you to spend the money on your honeymoon - and be put out if they see you've used it to buy a Porsche instead. You shouldn't put yourself in a position where it might look as if you've tried to trick the family and friends you've invited.

try using this website:

we didnt want gifts on our wedding either cos we'd only just moved in together 6 months before so we had everything we needed!!! i just asked people to spread the word - most of them gave us money / gift vouchers but the odd few still turned up with gifts!

I like this one:-

because at first we lived in sin, we've got sheets and a rubbish bin. A gift from you would be swell, but we'd prefer a donation to our wishing well!

Please don't think/we're just being funny/don't bring presents/just bring money.

People What is it with people and money. dosent matter as much as hapieness...........................so just GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My nephew got married last week and as they had already got most things they asked for gift vouchers for a big department store so they could put them towards a washing machine - this seemed more acceptable than asking for hard cash.

lynziclare :- what a great website this is. i have already told my son and his future bride and they luv it. also it tells you what is expected in the invitation and it is not etiquette (i think thats how you spell it) to request monetry gifts. what a poo paa that would have been. also they were looking for words to say at the wedding to each other and words of their choice to put in invitation, it is all on this website so thank you again
