I have a Ford Focus (2003) 1.6 Zetec. Its a silly question but I dont know whether it has al alarm. When you press the fob once, it locks the car. press it a second time and there is another lockng sound and the indicators flash. Is this just the immoboliser?

The indicators flash when it is double locked - the alarm was an extra on these cars - look under the bonnet - if it has a small round pyramid thing made of rubber this is a clue that it has an alarm.

The pyramid you are speaking of is a switch that relates to the factory standard alarm. It will only go off if someone opens the doors, bonnet or boot without the car being opened wit hthe key/remote locking.

It's a bit of a poxy alarm fited to most ford's

so what does "double lock" mean tubeway? What does it actaully do?
It is a double security feature - it means that if someone was to break a window - they still would not be able to use the interior handles to gain access to the car.
