Not too sure of the time but it can occur at any time really, depending on the amount of Solar activity going on.
I'll have a look tonight but won't stay up all night

I'm in East Devon,do I look N,S,E,or W. (if its not raining)

North from as high a point as possible where there is a little light pollution as you can find

Thanks,we're in the sticks so light pollution not too bad and the weather's not too bad at present so will have a look. I remember seeing it once before when I was quite young and have never forgotten it.
