I agree Sandy, horse racing has lost a great character. I remember one particular day at Hereford races. I went over to the 2 mile starting tape to watch the start of a race and Terry was told in no uncertain terms by the starter to, "get off the tape Biddlecombe". He replied in his Gloucester drawl "sorry sirrr, it was I with herrr, not herrr with I". I'd bet he said...

I'd bet he said that more than once during his long career. National Hunt racing will miss him.
