Nokia 6230 not showing me who is calling.

When people call me it just says "call" instead of coming up with their name. I have recently had an upgraded SIM card and phone although I have the new sim in my old phone as I like my old phone better. This couldn't affect it though could it? I have copied all contacts to phone and SIM and I am now only using the SIM memory as I know if you have a contact in twice then it doesnt show the callers ID. This is baffling me and as usual I can't get through to a human being at Orange.

Any help or suggestions with this would be great thanks.

I think it could be because your new sim is probably registered to your new phone and would have different set ups unique to your new phone. I find when I'm swapping my sim between my new phone and my old one it does different stuff. You can usually get through to a human being at Orange eventually, and I have found them to be quite good of late, although I spent a year slagging them off-when it came to contract renewal and the thought of losing me they became very helpful indeed!

Make sure your phone book is set to phone or both and not just to sim card. let me know if works.

Thanks for suggestions. NubMaster, I changed the setting to just phone memory, to just SIM memory, to both and each time, it still says "call" when I ring from my home phone, even though that number should be stored. What can I do! Its a nightmare not knowing who my missed calls are! Also, I only have in my recent calls list, the option for "dialled numbers" not received or missed.

Any other ideas?

theres only1thing left, u probably have all ur names in twice e.g in sim and phone memory so when it rings it cant think who it is. copy all ur nos from sim to phone and when it asks to keep or move original choose move , eventually allur nos will be on ur phone and none on sim, betchya this works, let me know how u got on
