You may have scratched the eyeball which is very painful.
abilicious is quitre right - get it checked out, if it needs washing out, they'll do that for you, and if it's anything to worry about, they can start treatment for you right away.
Please go to an eye unit ..not the GP.
You can see them as an emergency.
If you do go to the GP go to the eye hospital straight after.
I wear scleral elnses and though live inWales go to Moorfieldsa in London for fitting and check ups as the local hospital wanted to give me corea graphy. I would be on my 4th set of donated corneas by now as they only last 5 yrs .
If you live near london go to casualty take the tube to Old street.
You cannot lose your sigth asnd I am afraid in my experience GP's are not qualified to comment on eye problems.
it could be an ulcer it could be a virus , it could be herpes,it could be malaria, it could be denge fever.
I left my eye till I couldn't drive. I have a visible scar acroos the cornea for life and it flairs up worse than any toothache could.
Good news. eyes tend to heal quicker than other areas as they are wet. but likewise an infection can easily get out of hand and you would not beleive the pain.
Take care
and see or feel your way to a specialist .
Ronianna, comments like that really aren't funny when someone's in pain and may be in real trouble. Probably best say nothing if that's all you have to offer.
thanks for the laugh Ronianna.... and thanks Snook for the sensitivity for the fact I may have been in too much pain to see the funny side of things....ooops there's a pun!!!
