Ideas From Mum's Please
9 Answers
Hello Mum’s
I need you help with ideas please. My best friend has just had a baby girl. I have no children so know nothing about what it feels like to give birth or the feelings and emotions afterwards. I have a few small gifts for baby and one for Dad, but I would like to give my friend a present that is just for her, something special, but I don’t know what to get. Is there something special that new Mum’s want or would love but don’t seem to get? I thought about some jewellery but decided this might be a bit impractical. I have a budget of about £10; any ideas would be much appreciated.

An Amazon voucher is a good idea but it hasn’t really got the ‘personal touch’ for want of a better phrase. I have knitted her a maternity bed shrug fro when she is feeding but wanted something else to go with it, not necessarily baby orientated.
On the contrary, IMO an Amazon voucher conveys the idea that you are thinking about your friend and want to get her something but can't possibly know what she wants so here's something which she can use to get PRECISELY what she wants. When she gets that something, she will love it and it will be you who has paid for it!
Ah yes seekeerz that sounds like a good idea, something to pamper herself. Yes lady-janine I remember my sister saying something similar when she had her ‘boys’ that’s why I wanted something just for my friend, another option I have thought of is to do a homemade voucher promising one nights babysitting while her and hubby have a well deserved evening of me time, but that would possibly have to wait until a routine had been established. You certainly have a valid point jeffa, I will ponder.
