I don't understand, you can't roast in a DF fryer?

i can in this you can roast, steam, grill, cakes and puddings. chickens any thing really but im finding some of the instructions a bit vague.
Crumbs, that sounds good!
I've googled "roasting in deep fat fryer" - quite a lot of links, you might want to look. Some seem to suggest cooking the potatoes then crisping them up in the fyer.

i hope it is good we got it at the range for £49 .i.ve been googling for ages about it
But this is a low fat frier......

I'm not at all familiar with these gadgets, nor the whole halogen oven malarkey, the reviews I have just read are less than impressive.

I think I'll stick to my conventional cooking methods.
I'm now wondering if a low fat frier is more like a deep fat fryer or more like a light weight monk!
It's not at all what I thought it was, doesn't strike me as a frier at all! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Salter-EK1479-Low-Fat-Fryer/dp/B00CLSDREU
It's described as a fryer and is called a versa fryer. What did it strike you as boxy?
A fryer to me is a thing where you lower the foot into some sort of oil or fat. That looks like a steamer!

i'm just cooking a beef joint in it smells lovely.
Ah right.
Have you managed to roast potatoes yet, we just got one today and are looking forward to using it, are you using iot still or has it made its way to the back of the gadget cupboard?
