Hi

I've had to perform a system recovery and now I'm trying to copy my backed-up data from CD-R disc to the computer. Is in running ridiculously slow and then I receive the above message. Does anybody have any ideas please? Thanks

CRD error usually means that the CD has had it. Possibly scratches or a bad/old copy. Rather than try to copy the CD, see if you can drag any of the files to a new folder on your hard drive (even individually if you have to). You can later copy them to a new CD. Hopefully there aren't any really important ones that won't copy over.

If you have more than one CD/DVD drive - try the other one - there can be different tolerances in the drives. One might work better than another.

Best of luck!

Sorry, should have been CRC error.

Do you know what? I did wonder whether it was the discs because I've tried some others and they're fine. I'll give the dragging across ago - unfortunately I only have the one drive!! Doh!! Thanks wideboy!
