Someone posted that AB had gone quiet, so here's a question. I'm looking for a new hobby. I've seen suggestions elsewhere on AB, but none has appealed to me. To try to narrow the field, I'm a 66 year old male retiree with an OH. I do like fixing things, and so that's the avenue I'd like to explore. All suggestions gratefully received!

Reading books, surfing the internet, writing poetry; the best one I have saved til last. If I can do it then so can you. By the way, Ed, can we have a poetry section on here?
Beer, whisky, cake, sarnies pink sparklies ...and......as much ice cream as you want !!
lets just share one month then move on, and so on. just between the three of three of us. i really do need some help.
This is our local council but you might find something at yours via AgeUK (see under handyperson volunteers)

Deal !!
In all seriousness I could sometimes do with a man for odd jobs that need two people or are beyond my expertise....and I have friends in the same boat so a cheery odd job man would be a blessing, Arrods.

Keep you happy too as you like fixing things and it's good for wives to get male retirees out of the house.

Let us know what you decide....x
(I think you have scared him off, ladies.) :)
Have you got a steam railway project near you? A friend of mine volunteers at his local one and he loves it.

Sorry for the delay in replying ABers - just got back from the Southend v Hull FA Cup match. Thank you to all for your suggestions. I'm sure I'll be able to adopt one or two of the serious suggestions (and maybe three or four of the not so serious!). Thanks again.
