What does Second Chance offer mean please...

The listing has ended but the winning bidder has not completed for any number of reasons, so the seller has offered the second highest bidder the chance to buy.

If the highest bidder lets you down or backs out then you can offer whatever it is your selling to the next highest bidder.

Thats strange as the bidder paid immediately by Paypal and received the good next day. Left good feedback too.

In that case the seller could be trying to avoid eBay fees by selling several items in a single listing.

Or it could be a scam. Somebody pretending to be the seller making a fake second chance offer when they don't have the goods to sell.

No just the one item.

I had a bid early on for the asking price. At the very last few seconds someone else popped up with a bid of just 50p more and of course won.

Not a scam as far as I can see.

I had other items to sell but just the one pair of shoes. As my last post it was pipped at the post by a different bidder, who made an immediate payment and left excellent feedback. The bidder had a 100% feedback as do I.

cupotee, please clarify if you are the buyer or seller.

I always use a snipe program to place my bid in the last second or two and as it is incremental I often win by a very little amount, regardless of how high my maximum bid is.

Did you have a message from eBay inviting you to make a second chance offer to the under bidder?

No, it just showed up on the side of the invoice page .

I know PayPal don't allow me to withdraw funds for up to 21 days after a sale is paid in. That in itself is a blooming cheek.

I often use Ebay Cup, at time Item sell, If you have an asking Price of say £10.00 and someone offers £9.50, the Item will not sell hence Second Chance Offer kicks in, you can contact the second bidder by their offer.
