Has anyone on the AB had any dealings with this Company. They contacted my son, who has debt problems. He, foolishly, I feel, paid them £900 by credit card for which they say they will reclaim credit charges and any ppi. I didn't think companies charged for this search.I have a horrible feeling about this. Can anyone put my mind at rest?

I had dealings with them, after unsuccessful enquiries and having parted with a lot of money, after a cold call and hard sell, I contacted "consumer direct"Ministry Of Justice & my credit card company. They froze interest on the amount taken by Consortium reclaim, and recalled the amount which was put back onto my card just before christmas. The good news is...

According to an email I recieved from Credit Clear Services, Consortium Reclaim have now stopped trading. Where this leaves me now is £2136 out of pocket. I have been trying to get my full refund since August when I was also told the cheque would be here in 28 days. When this did not arrive I was then told the money would be credited back to my card, still waiting. My credit card company do not want to know as I have no reciepts for the transaction.
If the fees were taken from your Credit Card as most if not all appear to have been you can reclaim the money from your Credit Card Company but you must say you are claiming under Section 75. There is no time limit applicable to these claims.

I was given this information by the Insolvency Practitioner Mrs Gagen Sharma of Sharma & Co, 257 Hagley Road, Birmingham B16 9NA, telephone 0121 454 2700.
You will need to be able to provide the date the amount was taken.
