When I was a child a twix was a sweet.
When I was a child a Kit Kat was a sweet
When I was a child an aero and other chocolate bars were sweets
When I was a child fruit was fruit from a tree, bush or shrub and came in the shape of fruit etc
Now, due to marketing a Twix is a biscuit
Now, due to marketing a Kit Kat is a biscuit
Now, due to marketing, and... a MINIMAL amount of crumb in an Aero and other choclate bars they are now biscuits
Now, due to marketing a nondiscript stip of sticky fruit flavoured/coloured looking 'sweet' is fruit.
Marketing now teaches children that 'sweets' are not sweet but biscuits
Marketing now teaches children that fruit comes in a sweet packet and 'real' fruit is not fruit and you don't have to eat it
Marketing has stripped people of common sence. So much so that even some schools now say all these things are appropriate for a healthy lunch.
And toothpaste now joins the ranks of demons that make some our children (and some adults) stupid and fat.
Mummy, mummy, why am I so fat and my teeth falling out? I don't eat sweets and I eat all my fruit up.
