What is the easiest way to start a blog and how do you get followers (other than people you already know)?

Well, the first rule is that if you want people to actually read it then it has to be good. Really really really good. There's billions of blogs floating around. Most of them utter tripe.

There are certain blogging sites where you can 'tag' words, so your blog may appear in related searches for words you tag.

Then you promote it through social media, Twitter, Facebook, etc. If it's any good, people will pick it up and pass it round to others.

The easiest way to start a blog is to use WordPress. It's extremely userfriendly and it's also easy to maintain.

As an alternative, you could use tumblr as well, but it's bit too limited (in my opinion).

About followers? Share your blog to your friends, co-workers and so on.. If you produces interesting/good quality you will start receiving visitors and followers.

It takes some time, but it's worth it. Eventually you can even make money out of it.
