Trying to remember film title

We are trying to remember the title of a film (or any of the character's names) that was possibly about leprechauns and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow - it had a white horse that a strange looking man rode - with shabby black top hat and tails.  It also had 2 young children in it, a boy and a girl who had a dog - possibly a golden retriever. 

Can't remember much else about it but think it was quite an old film.

I don't believe it!!!  I was thinking of this same film only yesterday! (because I was looking at a rainbow)

Can't help with what it was called 'cos my memory is as vague as yours.  However, I was thinking Tommy Steele was in it??

No I dont think it is that one - I think you are thinking of Finian's Rainbow - which had Tommy Steele in it and thats not the one we are trying to remember - thanks anyway

It might be Darby O'Gill and the little people

Darby O'Gill and the Little People had pots of gold and leprechauns but didn't have children in it.

It's come back to me what I was thinking of. "Flight of the Doves" starring Ron Moody [mysterious man on horse>?] and Jack Wild.

Hi was the film called Darby O,Gill and the little people.There were banshees in it as well I used to love this film but it used to really scare me.Hope I have been of some help
