Chocolate Causing Tooth Pain, Why Is That?

I have a hole in a tooth and need to the dentist, it doesn't cause me any problems except when I eat chocolate, why is it only chocolate that causes this?

Hot and cold is fine, it is just chocolate.

It's because of the consistency. It gets stuck in the cavity and the sugar triggers a reaction. You'll find toffee is worse.

Chew a small piece of cotton wool and poke that into the cavity. That should relieve the problem until you get to see the dentist.

I agree with Old_Jim.....I should think that the sugar in the chocolate draws out the fluid by osmosis causing the pain.

Go to the chemist, ratter, and buy a dental repair kit - you can stuff a bit of the putty gunk into the hole until you can get to the dentist. We never go on hols without a bit of tooth-filler, just in case.

Thanks Boxy, I think I will just avoid eating chocolate for a few days, I'm fine without the chocolate.
