Yesterday, phone call from son asking please can Dad take him to drop car off at garage and rn him to work - car stuck in gear (automatic). Today, OH went out, 15 minutes later I get a call, can I pick him up, he's broken down. So off I go in my little car; and smelled burning. Reached OH who looked under bonnet and declared everything OK. Now, OH has a dental appointment 20 miles away at 1.30 so sets off in my car. 5 minutes later he's back with smoke billowing from under the bonnet, and when he looked there is oil everywhere. OH says it's a seal that's gone. So now we're both carless! He's had to borrow a car from my Mum to get to his appointment and we need to pick up granddaughter from school at 3. Grrrr. I felt like crying and then I remembered my friend whose husband has just been told he has cancer. 2 little boys under 8. Puts it all in perspective doesn't it?
