Two of Tony's goats were eating lunch in a Birmingham junk yard.
One goat came across a large reel of movie film left over from The Regal, an old movie theatre in Wolverhampton.
As the first goat ate the film, the second goat watched with much interest as it had never seen movie film before.
When the first goat had finished eating all the film, the second asked "So, how did you like it?" to which the first of Tony's goats replied "Not bad... but I liked the book better!"
Goats and apple pruning - haven't heard of that.....unless one is pre-marinading the goat meat in cider.... Didn't know that your goats were with Tone's, Lady J.....
DTC - your illustration is very apt. when i lived in wales and kept goats we did have one that was very keen on climbing trees. magadelena (as were the others) was fixed in the field to a post by a chain (they ate their way through ropes). she always managed to free herself and instead of running off down the lane always climbed a tree. big, old-fashioned apple trees and perry pear trees. very difficult to coax down.
Good memories then, Lady J, - good name too for a nanny goat....was the Billy called Magdalen, Maudlin, Maraudin' or Mandoline (thinly-sliced roast kid?).
