Just out of the blue it feels as though someone has dropped an iron across the top of my foot.. Not swollen and I can move toes, but just aches. Same foot as previous thread where we all thought it was gout, which hasn't come back, that wasn't swollen either.

If tests show that it is not gout get an XRay could be arthritis it creeps up unxexpectedly and then you will know what you have and be able to cope with it!
It could be caused by poor circulation. Do your calves ache when you take a brisk walk? See your doctor. It can be fixed if it's caught early, otherwise it just gets worse.

Doc says I have the beginning of arthritis, particularly in this leg, pain in groin, etc. what's next I wonder?
smurfy........yes I remember your previous thread quite well in that we thought it may well be gout, but nothing came of it.

It certainly is a problem with the joint and perhaps if it does concern you, a trip to the GP for blood tests would exclude or indicate a type of arthritis.
