Uploads And Downloads

Any of who noticed my up and downloads are poor - I am with BT.

Now I went onto their site and there are so many many things - I tried to look for Contact them - it came up - put in email address and then password (of which I don't have any idea.)#


Anybody tell how to get the speeds up to what they are at the moment

ie download 2.41 upload 0.369

In other words a quick way of getting to BT - Thanks

Those speeds might not be particularly low if you're any great distance from the exchange which serves your line. However you can contact BT Broadband 24 hours per day on 0800 111 4567. (Ask them if it's possible to upgrade your line from 'ADSL Max' to 'ADSL 2+').

As long as you use your landline (as you're obviously with BT), calls to 0800 numbers are always free.

Before getting on to BT, try resetting your router. (That's the gizmo plugged into the telephone socket) Switch off all your computers and then switch off the router. If you've got a white boz and a black box, switch them both off. Leave it for two minutes, then switch everything on again. Wait ten minutes for everything to get stable and see if that's improved things.

Select the YES option then click Begin Test

Follow the instructions. You will get details of your actual speed, what spped you could get and your IP profile.

Post your results on here and somebody will tell you if you have a problem.
