Our property shares a joint access foot path to mine and my neighbours property only. the houses are joined but have an alleyway through to the rear garden. this access is just for our two properties.
The neighbour has now taken to riding his motor bike up the shared access through the alley to his rear garden.
I have asked them to stop and been told its private land and |I can't do anything about it.
is this right.

Carrust, it's ok if you have a dropped curb otherwise it's illegal no matter how many people do it. Mind you that does not mean anything will get done about it!
If I was in bollyhead's position I'd be annoyed too.

It's dangerous and noisy.

Let's suppose it wasn't a shared path, just your path. How would you like somebody riding a motorbike up and down it?

How does the fact that it's "shared" make it any better? It's still somebody effectively riding a motorbike up and down your garden path and right next to your house. I would call this "anti-social behaviour", but I'm no legal expert ...
