I've been invited to one and a little surprised by the complexity.

Thankfully it will be a relatively restrained and sophisticated affair, i.e. no pink Stetsons and L plates.

However I need three different outfits for one day, four if you include breakfast the next day. For Funks Sake I'm going to end up spending more on the hen night than I was considering for the gift!!!

Why is it such a big deal now?

Maybe my friends and I were boring but we went out for dinner, actually there is a bit more to my hen night but that is between me and the two....

I think I might have found my quick exit, fingers crossed it isn't to classy an event and I can wow them with my hits from Grease!
Beauty school dropout...?
Surely a nice outfit for the evening and either a skirt or pants and a few different tops for the rest of the day would suffice, but do you really need to change so many times during the day?

All the changes of clothes don't bother me it's more the fact the organisers seem to want to fill the weekend with so many activities, luckily I'm only attending a part of it.

My hen night was actually just dinner with a friend and the only other hen night I've been to was just a group of us having dinner.

I think I'm turning into a grumpy old woman!
Meh... Sounds like a nightmare. If I ever get married I think I want a day at alton towers and dinner. Or a spa day, and dinner. Dinner is quite a high priority in my life.
I never can understand the complexities of hen/stag nights. Some seem to cost as much as the wedding, weekends abroad etc. I was asked to my daughter's - unconventional,I know, but she also asked me to go as she ( mistakenly) thought it wouldn't get out of hand if
I went. Oh dear, it takes quite a lot to embarrass me, but walking into a restaurant and seeing what was laid out before us nearly finished me off. I'm talking chocolate appendages, amongst other things. I know some people find it funny, and that's fine, but my daughter was possibly more embarrassed than me .
What happened to a quiet drink or meal with the bridesmaids as in the 'good old days'.
