However, you should speak to your company they would chase you solely for the debt but if you are unable to pay it in one amount you could get them to spread it over a longer period of time so you dont have to pay it in one amount.
If their names are on the tenancy agreement you could also send that in to the company and say that they account should have been in all names when it was opened and not just yours. If you have proof that they lived there and used the gas then they may add their names to the account and then also chase them for the balance as well. Although, it would still be a 3rd party issue and they wouldnt get involved with acutally working out who owes what at least they wouldnt just chase you for the debt.
