Change Permissions

How do I change permissions - to Administrator - in Windows 7? I am the only person who has ever used this computer. I intend to download Avast and get rid of MSE. TIA.

Have a look in ......... Start ........... Control Panel ........ User Accounts

... to see who is the current Admin, although, with only one user, I would have thought it was you anyway.

I have recently been running Malwarebytes ( Antimalware) on my PC & discovered that I needed to declare that I am Administrator in order for it to work properly. In order to do this I was advised to click on start ( bottom left) find the file & right click on it & select ''Run as Administrator'' this I did & it worked a treat.

When you logon you only have temporary administration rights so if you make changes such as installing software then you have to reinstate the rights
